Mentor Assistants (MA's)

Remember when you were a freshman? Did you ever feel unsure about college life? overwhelmed with tests and papers? confused about GE requirements? Talking with an upperclassman can often answer questions and calm fears and that is a big part of what an MA does.

MA's help a faculty mentor as they work with a group of about 20 freshmen (a collegium) advising them academically and assisting in the freshmen JCC (Jesus and the Christian Community) class. In addition to participating in the collegium service project and planning social activities for the collegium, MA's may lead study sessions, help students study, and grade quizzes. Building relationships with these freshmen and helping them adjust to university life is a vital part of this leadership position.

So if you have strong academic abilities, are interested in working with a faculty member, and want to create relationships with freshmen and help them, then the MA position may be for you!
