Commuter Services

Students who commute to Fresno Pacific University are an important part of campus student life and are encouraged to do more than just attend class and go home. Being involved in our Chrisitan community is a valuable part of the whole educational experience.

We realize your needs as a commuter student are unique, so we offer opportunities and services specifically designed for your situation.

Commuter Activities

Of course, you are invited and encouraged to attend any and all student activities on campus, but additional activities are designed just for you:

  • Free Friday Commuter Lunches
  • Commuter beach trips
  • Commuter Life Groups (Bible studies)
  • Mid-Term Treats in the Forest
  • "Meet and Greets"
  • Commuter discounts for large FPU trips (i.e. Disneyland)

Commuter Council

The Commuter Council consists of commuter students, as well as one commuter who is elected by the Student Body to be a Commuter Representative in Student Government. Council members attend student senate meetings, discuss the needs of the commuter population, and keep commuters informed of campus activities and opportunities. The council also helps plan activities and social events for commuters.

Each commuter is assigned a council representative so that they are able to contact a specific person with any questions:

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do I park?
A: Parking permits are available for purchase at the cashier’s window in McDonald Hall. The permits go on sale the last week in August, and cost $50 for the school year, and $25 for the semester. They allow you to park in the McDonald Hall, East Hall and Hamilton lots. The Steinert Field lot and Butler Church parking lot do not require a permit for parking. You may also park on the street—first come, first served!

A: The Commuter Lounge in East Hall 1 is equipped with a large refrigerator and freezer, as well as two microwaves and a sink for your food preparation needs. Charlotte’s Corner in Alumni Hall sells snacks and sandwiches. The other option is to eat in the Shehadey Dining Room, located in Steinert Campus Center. Monday-Friday commuter lunch meal plans are also available for purchase in the Student Life Office. Commuters can purchase up to 20 meals at a time for $5 a piece—a $2 discount per meal!
